Indieweb Movie Club - The Wizard Of Oz (1939)
I’ve just finished watching The Wizard Of Oz from 1939. I remember seeing the movie when I was a kid. The movie was the pick for October’s IndieWeb Movie Club, that is hosted by James G. which by the way has a lovely blog that you should visit.
I was surprised about how much I remembered of this movie, so I probably have seen it multiple times throughout my life, but I am sure I haven’t seen it in many years. Also the movie is so iconic and the originator’s of popular references like the man behind the curtain and yellow brick road, plus other movies and tv shows have also made references to the Wizard Of Oz.
What I like most about the move is how well many messages are given to the viewers that are important in life. like don’t runaway from your problems, be confident on yourself, together we can accomplish more and of course, the big, there is not place like home. And here for me “home” has a broader meaning of feeling comfortable on your own skin and accepting yourself.
Thanks James for hosting this month’s movie club and has always I look forward to reading everyone’s posts as well as next month’s pick.
